Northern Virginia Wedding Photography ~ Photojournalism

Free Range Photography (i dont mean from Whole Foods)

My approach to wedding photography is 80% photojournalism and 20% portraiture.  I believe your story is best when captured in an organic-no-preservatives-or-additives fashion without interrupting or taking away from the natural flow of events and emotion on your important day.   It is important that your portraits also convey the emotion of your day.  When choosing your photographer pay close attention to the approach he or she uses.  The feel of their photographs, the candids and the portraits, should speak to you.

Choosing Your Wedding Photographer

There is no shortage of talented wedding photographers in the Northern Virginia and DC Metro Area.  While a photographers style (when I say style here I refer to the feel of his or her art) should be first and foremost on the list of characteristics, there are other important factors to consider.

The second most important is probably (in my humble opinion) personality.  On your wedding day, when you have all kinds of things coming at you, some going right, some going horribly wrong, is your photographer going to be a calm in the storm?  Your photographer should be laid back yet professional, adaptable, confident and courteous.  Your photographer should also be creative, not just in his or her approach to the photography, but in solving the many possible problems that may pop up on a wedding day.

In case you were wondering, and you probably were since you've read this far, I am laid back, professional, adaptable, confident, courteous AND creative in my photography and problem solving.  It is my hope that at the end of our business together you consider me as a friend and photographer.
